Your pantry, if you have one, can store tons of non-perishable food in it at one time. Many of these come with many shelves, as the pantry is normally just a small niche in the kitchen that is only big enough for a person. Keeping the pantry is organized is not too much work, and can also help you decide what you want to eat. These tips will help you figure out what is best for your pantry.
This step is entirely up to you, as you need to make a scheme that suits your space and style. You could use some of the following examples of how to sort your food in your pantry: snacks, mixes, drinks, others, special occassions, etc. Be creative.
This may not allow you to keep the calories off, but it will certainly allow you easier access to what you want to eat. This will also help you to see what you have and don't. This will also serve as a handy cue to go to the grocery store if you don't see anything you want.
When you get home from buying your groceries, separate what is going into the fridge and what is going into the pantry. From what is going into the pantry, place each item where it belongs. Also, if you can, place these new items towards the back of each area, so you can finish the older food first and not let it go to waste by eating the fresher food first.
