Your living room is a hotbed of activity for you and guests. Having the room organized and clean will not only make a statement about you, but it will also allow your company to enjoy your home even more, as they can watch TV and just socialize without having to feel that they are a part of the clutter. These tips will help to make this situation happen.
At the very minimum, you should have a path to allow you a means to enter and leave. This will not only make it easy for you to navigate your house, but it will also serve as a handy means of escape in the unexpected event you have to evacuate. Also, having a path will minimize the likelihood that you will trip over something and injure yourself.
Having your furniture organized and clean will help create a good mood for the room. If you want your room to be more sociable, have your furniture form a circle, or at least move the TV further away. You can also arrange more comfortable furniture near to the television if you or company like to watch television. This step is predominantly up to how you use your room.
While these pieces of furniture may cost you some floor space, they give you more space to put things on and make the room more sociable. You can leave magazines or remotes on these to allow easy access to them. Also, these pieces of furniture will also encourage the direct area around them to be clean, as people have a natural tendency to walk a little bit further from these objects to prevent themselves from hitting the tables.
