You are seeing: Home > Garage > Tip #4: Organize all that stuff!
After you have pulled everything out of the garage, take some time to physically arrange everything. This may involve some time, and some real effort, but in the long run, you'll be better off, as you'll be able to find everything and have a cleaner garage as well.
Decide where you want items to be placed before you start moving them. This will save a lot of time later, as you may have to rearrange many items if you just put items wherever. If multiple people are involved, decide collectively where items should be placed. This way, it benefits everyone, and it will also show that you value their time as well. Once you have decided where you want stuff to go, get to work on putting the stuff there!
You need to be able to get to stuff in the garage. When you are deciding where to put items back in the garage, keep in mind how often you use certain items, and make sure you can easily get to them. This also goes for any items you don't use often, but you want to know where they are.
It makes sense to put things related to each other physically next to each other. For example, if you have a TV in your garage, it makes sense to put the remote or tools to fix it nearby. If you put these on the opposite side of the garage, you'll only end up frustrating yourself.
