Who is Amalgamayne?
Amalgamayne is a psuedonym for Casey M Addy, whose likeness is resembled on the home page.
Born in Meriden, CT (USA), he started out playing percussion since his asthma made it hard for him to use wind instruments. A graduate of Orville H. Platt High School, he went to college at RPI. He is currently a senior there, and still continues to make and play music. Creating electronic music is a new skill acquired for him, and he would eventually like to see something he made in a future installment of Dance Dance Revolution. He also is currently in the process of selecting a graduate school for HCI. He doesn't know where the future will take him, but hopefully it will include music and video games. He is also passionate about learning.
Artistic Statement
The game Dance Dance Revolution has been more than just a game - it has been a vehicle for making friends, and also for gaining exercise and keeping a healthy weight. Unfortunately, the game has taken a more elitist outlook and has forgotten about its origins. This piece is meant to show a blend of the styles of play, with catering to the original players more than the new hardcore gamers. It is meant to serve as a realization as to where the game is going at the current rate, and to also to make players realize the direction the game is going.
