LLC Concept Design

I worked on this project in a team of 3 to improve the interface of the Rensselaer Department of Language, Literature, and Communication. As a group, we went through and identified the strongest points of the current design (the information the department wanted to give to faculty, students, and working professionals) and made sure to emphasize them. One other problem the current design suffered from was a lack of consistent identity between the Department’s print and virtual identities, so we made sure to have our design focus on creating a consistent identity. While this site is only a concept, it contains the functionality necessary to make the transition to a live site without much effort.
This project was quite rewarding. I was able to work with a team of sophisticated web designers and learned much about how to create a professional looking website through the power of CSS (even though I am not the best at working with Photoshop). The team also taught me how professionals work: professionals talk to stakeholders and also search for the best images possible from them. I was also able to contribute to the design concise writing that would allow potential users of the site to be able to find desired information without having to sift through mountains of text. I enjoyed working on this project and would love to continue to working on projects like these in the future.
