Intelligent Home Fitness The gym is quite intelligent too |
"I was just recently in the hospital with a heart attack," said Baker Adam Locktenelli, father of three. "My doctor said I had to start exercising immediately to prevent this from happening again." Locktenelli had two coronary blood vessels completely blocked. After his stay in the hospital, he searched for a form of exercise that would ensure his long-term health. The answer: a new home gym - the TotalPackage. There has been a lot of hubbub created from the TotalPackage. Ever since it was rumored to be released last year, people were skeptical that anyone would use it. The TotalPackage looks like any other home gym, but is very different. The system combines three well-known products, the StairMaster, the Schwinn Airdyne, and the Bowflex SelectTech free weights. The TotalPackage can be built and reassembled easily to use any of the three products. Incorporated FitnessEdge technology makes it stand out from the competition. FitnessEdge is the first artificially intelligent physical trainer ever to be released to consumers. A computer chip is embedded into the gym. "FitnessEdge not only helps users gain the results they want," says creator Jebidiah Jones. "It also helps to reinforce safety. Every year there are injuries incurred from working out at home. FitnessEdge helps to prevent this. If the operator is pushing himself/herself too hard, it renders the system inoperable for a time, encouraging the user to rest." FitnessEdge also gives the user a variety of workouts, by switching the regimen, each time the gym is used. The way the gym operates is based from a user profile. It is updated each time the user exercises on the TotalPackage. If the user wishes to push their daily regimen, FitnessEdge will lock down the system, but can be overridden by a code. If abused, the system changes the code and reveals it later. This helps prevent overexertion. FitnessEdge helps the user (an athlete or everyday person) to gain increased performance from their workout, while insuring safety. These benefits, among others, can lower the chance of cancer, improve the immune system, create better attitude, and reduce excessive body fat. "This product continues to surprise me," comments Dr. Peter Givens, Nutritionist, and practicing physician. "It gives people the exercise they need while preventing undue harm. Any level of athlete can get the performance they want and worry less about injury." Kevin Black, physical trainer at the University of Michigan’s football team, also agrees: "Ever since we introduced the TotalPackage into our training, it is a favorite among our athletes. Our team is now able to push beyond its limits, allowing us to be able to win the Rose Bowl this year. The team is also kept safe, which everyone here is thankful for." "I was looking for anything that could help me get healthier, and it’s in the TotalPackage," notes Locktenelli. "It’s completely turned my life around. It has made me realize the true things that are truly important- health and family; without them, what else is there?" - # # # # # -
