Recently, I took some time to not do some work. My friends wanted to show me some of the sights around here in Bloomington, and I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to not only enjoy their company, but to see what they had to show me.
We then got into the car and drove all the way out to Lake Monroe. We went at nighttime, and it was quite beautiful and peaceful. We not only took the time to sit back and enjoy the serenity of the lake, but I also got the chance to learn how to skip rocks. It was an insight into the outdoors that I usually end up missing, as I am more of an indoors kid – the notion that the outdoors can have some calm and redeeming qualities in them that cannot be found indoors. I was much more able to enjoy their company at the lake than anywhere else I have been so far.
This time was quite valuable for me, and I would like to get a chance to go back out there before the semester starts up again. For your enjoyment, here is what the lake looks like, and some of the pictures we took there:
